Technology is one of the fastest growing industries in the world and yet by 2020 there is expected to be 1 million more computing jobs than there are students. That leaves only 30% of computing jobs filled, creating a $500 billion gap in the ecosystem called The United States of America.
These statistics show just how important it is to teach kids to code.
It may sound nerdy, but I find that learning and using scripting languages is fun, and there are thousands of others across the globe that feel the exact same way. So why not share this fascination with our children?
Simple things like making a cartoon robot dance across the screen are stepping stones to creating fully blown apps or websites.
